84 seconds
Each month, I put together a review of my current work. This month, the total output is 84 seconds of video footage. I know a whole lot of learning happened under the surface of that work but still - 84 seconds?
And... here are those seconds!
4 seconds: THE CARTWHEEL
I brushed off my sketching skills and made this 15-frame animated cartwheel.
There are many types of animation - 2D, 3D, stop-motion, claymation, rotoscope. And hand-drawn, like the Cartwheel. I did the drawings on Procreate and animated it in After Effects.
For perspective, a feature animated film could have as many as 1,440 frames per minute!
33 seconds: MEOW!
I got the idea for this 2D animation during my last animation bootcamp. It's about two of my favorite things: cats and sleep.
I used Adobe Illustrator to create the 2D graphical elements then animated them together in After Effects. I added sound and titles in Final Cut Pro.
I'm still working on the rest of it, including an actual cat.
47 seconds: SHOOTING TRUCKS
My newest client builds trucks. This is from a recent visit to the truck shop.
Making training and troubleshooting videos is outside my usual milieu but, with video storytelling, it doesn't matter. It's still people, stories, light, and curiosity.
