A good story needs a good soundscape

We know movies are not complete without sound effects and music. But all visual stories can benefit from music and sound.

Check in on your favorite YouTube creators and you'll hear that many of them, maybe even most of them, use music and sound to help deliver (and clarify) their content.

In this "listicle" video I share my five favorite ways to improve video storytelling with music and sound. From a theme song to a bell ring to a symphony background, these techniques help bring a video story to life.

Engaging and retaining your audience isn't just about speaking a story, it's about presenting a story. A rich soundscape creates an emotional connection.

Once you are aware of the ways music and sound are used in video, you may realize that it's everywhere!
