Colorwash Quilt, Design to Fabrication

I've always wanted to do a colorwash quilt but I haven't known how to start! But then I found a pattern that I really liked for a three-color transition using quarter square triangles. (Pattern by Tiny Orchard Quilts)
So I loaded it up on PreQuilt (not an recommendation for PreQuilt, it's just the tool I have) and this is what it looked like. Blue-Violet to Red-Orange with Yellow as the transition.

It's such smart design because in column one, the blocks are made up of all blue-violet triangles. Then in the next column the blocks include one yellow triangle, then two yellows, then three - and then after it's all yellow, it transitions in the same way to orange. It's a very clever way to make the transition without it having to do it by eye and by gut. I love a formula!
The Blue-Violets and the Red-Oranges were intense so I decided to tame it a little. Purple to Orange with Pink as the transition color.

I liked this one. Orange is very exciting to me but I wasn't sure this was working. So, I went a little wilder - Purple to Orange with a Yellow transition!

Okay, that's a whole lot. I can (maybe) see doing this at some very emotional point in my life but I'm not there at the moment. It hurts my eyes.
So, I returned to the original Blue-Violet and instead had it transition to Green with an Aqua middle

It's so relaxing to my eye and something I do want to work on.
And here it is in-progress Blue to Green colorwash quilt in my living room.

I don't have a wall-mounted design board so I made a temporary portable version and I'm using my table. We make do!
I'm looking forward to getting this one completed!
